BLOCKs Description and Tutorials

BLOCKs - The BLOCK Searcher (http://www.blocks.fhcrc.org/blocks/blocks_search.html) compares a DNA or protein sequence to a blocks database.  Blocks are multiply aligned (ungapped) parts of protein sequences that correspond to the most highly conserved regions of the proteins.  These blocks are made using the groups of proteins found in protein families in the prosite database.  More information about BLOCKs can be found at http://blocks.fhcrc.org/blocks/help/about_blocks.html.  The BLOCKs server is made available by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
